[/u]It occurred to me that perhaps not everybody is in my mind and understands how I think of vampires. Completely my fault though So this is just going to be a basic over-view of how vampires work on this site ^.^ If it's confusing in anyway feel free to contact me via e-mail, pm, or c-box. I won't bite, I promise!
Vampires:
--Vampires are not destroyed instantaneously by the sun, they have a few seconds before they denigrate.
--Vampires may go into heat, both male and female, where their drive is harder to control and children are often born during this.
--Vampires may be born.
--Vampires do not heal instantly for the most part. The older a vampire the quicker they heal for the minor things like cuts and bruises. Serious wounds, like impalement and having a limb removed take a long time, even for the Ancients. The only ones that are somewhat impervious to most attacks are the Founders.
--The only reliable ways to kill a vampire is to behead them, leave them for hours in the sun and strew their remains to the four winds, and there will be special weapons available at times that have special properties that vampires are vulnerable to.
--Vampires may have blood-line traits. Like my Eri and Sai have blood-rages. These can range from minor things like the blood-rages to controlling certain aspects of elements. Not all vampires have these since it is normally only passed down through the birthing vampire lines.
--Vampires do not sparkle and there shall be no Twilight wanna-bes roaming around here else Karasu will hunt them down with a burning passion. The only sparkling a vampire may do is when covered with glitter or wearing glittery material. You've been warned.
--If you would like further references for the basis of vampires here feel free to read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and Robin McKinely's Sunshine.
Weres:[/u]
--Share a mindlink with other weres when transformed, and also with their mates, or any other they share an extremely deep bond with.
--Allowed to be any animal (including mythological though those are limited to one or two per species)
--Only take one mate within their lifespan and normally they share the deepest mindlink, once their mate often dies as well (provided it's another were, humans will recover, vampires may or may not recover depending on the time spent and may not accept another)
--May have a child once a year, similar to a vampire going into heat, but is more random and subconscious than anything.
--Older, more experienced weres can control when they shift so they're not only forced to transform on the full moon, but all weres will shift at the full moon.
--Will usually find out they're weres when they're about 13.
Nephilim:[/u]
Group Meanings:
Shadowhunters are the warriors that fight the downworlders and keep everything safe from harm. They are the ones that are trained to fight. Beware though, if a vampire bites you, your blood will taste extra sweet to them.
Healers are those that heal the injured, though they also learn to fight, they spend much of their time making medicine since no human medication works on them thanks to the angel blood within their body. They would be considered an elder in a vampire world
Silent Brothers are the keepers of all things. They know every name ever given to any and all nephilim child. They are the ones that do the burial rights and when the times call for it they fight. They are like the ancients to a vampire of the nephilim world.
Betrayers are the scum of the nephilim world. They are the ones that have stabbed them in the back and joined the vampires in their rule of the city. Many of them are slaves to vampires rather than free creatures.
All groups are forbidden, even if they have left, in their mind it is breaking an angel's law to use anything other than a bow, sword or knife. No guns or anything like that will touch a nephilim's hand. They literally believe they will be smitted if they so much as touch a gun.
Make sure to tell us at the end of faction if you are a healer, shadowhunter, ect.
Maturity:
When a nephilim comes of age, which is between the age of 13 and 16, white wings appear on their back, this lasts for about three minutes before they turn to ash. Within that time, they are caused great pain only because a pair of wings are tattooed on, or so it seems. The tattoo is raised and black as night, but the skin on the inside of those wings has been colored white, but around the edge is either gold for males or silver for females.
