A deathly war between Russia and the United States caused many to change in our once peaceful world. Will there ever be a chance to change things back to the way they use to be? Or is this how life is going to be for eternity?
No one ever knew why the Russians and the Americans decided to fight. But because of their feud, a nuclear war was started. A deathly bombing in both Russia and United States caused many of the United States allies to come and help. Japan and South Korea came in with their weapons and began to attack Russia. On the other hand, North Korea, Iraq, and several other places began to bomb the United States. China stayed out of the feud until a month later, when they decided to help the US - simply because without the US, China would suffer. Humans began having radiation reactions. All the main big cities were bombed and many places out in the desert were as well. As the humans began to die, domesticated dogs began to run lose in their neighborhood.
Metal was dangerous - causing radiation and bad reactions in both humans and animals. Many animals were found burned and dead on the sides of the road and even in the safety of their own house. Dogs, however, seemed to be able to adapt to it. It was very odd, however. Many "special" breeds such as the Chihuahua and Afghan Hound seemed to disappear. But the main breeds such as the Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherds, and many other breeds, seemed to be able to live. With their acute sense of smell, they began to work together as a pack - using their different strengths to help one another - and began to dominate.
It was about a year later when the war ended. The human race was wiped off the face of this Earth and many other animals died. Dogs found shelter in caves and lived there, finding lizards to eat. Cars, buildings, streets, poles - everything was flattened to the ground. Nothing but black seemed to exist in the once beautiful city.
Soon, another problem popped up. Dogs and other animals began to die. Why? The radiation got to them or simply because of starvation. The strong breeds began to get powerful and learned how to live without the human hand. They began to turn wild once again.
The streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, and every other water system was ruined and contaminated. Dogs did not know how to boil water - so they simply drank it. The fittest would merely survive and the weak would die off. However, something strange happened. The chemicals inside the water was not from the nuclear war, surprisingly, it was all from labs. The Scientists were working on how to make things last forever, how to not feel pain, to grow bigger and stronger - steroids, everything else. That was now all into the water system. As dogs began to drink this, they got either bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, etc! It was like a magic potion.
Life seems so perfect - nothing could ever change this. Who will stop us now?
