Nobody knows how it all started in reality. One day, or rather night, there was only myths of vampires, and then bam, the cities everywhere are being over-run by them. Many humans were slaughtered and a select few where turned into vampires and sent to fight against what they once where. The battle for earth as it was known did not last entirely long. None could face a vampire when it was enraged.
Now many centuries have passed, the year is 4019. Earth is no more, in it's place stands the world of Santheria. The vampires are rulers, but in the time after the Great War they split into eight factions each with their own beliefs.
The clans are not entirely peaceful towards each other. Not many are blatantly aggresive, but are openly hostile towards others. Allainces are not uncommon in the clans though and for the most part they are honored between the clans.
While all this is happening many of the eldest of the vampires are awakening from their slumber after the Great War ended and are roaming. Many take the side of a clan or simply stay on their own. Each to their own is the common saying of the areas.
So where is your place in the new order? All is possible in the new age of Santheria, come and find your place.
A new clan has come forth, claiming to be descendants of the female founder and as such are much more different than the other vampires, and just to prove this and to combine the clans into one, and yet vampires aren't the only things that go bump around here, night or not.
Nephilim History:
A thousand years ago, the Angel Raziel mixed his blood with the blood of men and created the race of the Nephilim. Human-angel hybrids, they walk among us, unseen but ever-present, our invisible protectors.
They call themselves Shadowhunters.
The Shadowhunters obey the laws set down in the Gray Book, given to them by the angel: their mandate is to protect our world from the interdimensional parasites they call demons, who travel from world to world, razing and destroying everything in their path. Theirs is also the task of keeping the peace among the warring Downworlders: the human-demon crossbreeds we know as warlocks, vampires, werewolves, and faeries.
In their duties they are aided by the mysterious Silent Brothers. Their lips and eyes sewn shut, the Silent Brothers rule over the City of Bones, the necropolis below the streets of this town that holds the dead bodies of slain Shadowhunters. The Silent Brothers keep the archival records of ever Shadowhunter ever born. They also watch over the Mortal Instruments, the three divine objects the Angel Raziel gave to his children. One is a sword. One is a mirror. And the last is a cup.
For a thousand years, the Nephilim have protected the Mortal Instruments. But that was before the Uprising, the war that caused them to flee to the underground city after the vampires rose against them. Now, they hide forever unseen unless a call for aid is given and their leader so deems them to go. For his young age, he is wise. Though some chose to side with the vampires, many did not. The pages of this tale are ever turning, ever changing. The time will come for another uprising.
