There was the soft, delicate sound of skin on the blades of grass and dirt. It was almost inaudible, yet the silence was just still enough that the sudden breach in the atmosphere was noticeable to those who could here the whispers of the gods. Moving through the faint, violet mist, the feet continued to break the tranquility until it finally and suddenly came to a stop. A breeze moved through as if to emphasize the arrival of this new being. Air moved, drawn toward the nostrils of a small and delicate nose. There was a pause, as if the being were taking into consideration the scents, before the air was released back just as it had entered; this being clearly had no use for air and thus the body did not utilize its components as the plants and the other living creatures did. Somewhere a whip-poor-will attempted a soothing melody before giving up and flapping noisily away. The being moved its head. Brilliant, gold-hued eyes scanned the area alertly, as if the disturbance of the bird had been a sign of danger. However, there were few things that would startle this being so; the action was merely what it had been: the urge to get the surroundings in. No fear lingered in the air. Long lashings rose as fell slowly, gracefully, as she blinked. Nothing. The area was strangely empty, and yet crowded all at once. "Curious..." The sound was refreshing, like the dulcent altos of a silver flute. The voice fluttered about for a bit before dispersing into the air. There were buildings which covered the rich and fertile valley that she had just entered, and yet something seemed to be lacking. Perhaps it was that this land had no leader; she did not smell any scent that would have made her think otherwise. Perhaps this would be the perfect place in which to settle down finally. EunGyung played absently with a strand of inky hair. Such a habit was clearly a vestige of her human life, a life she no longer remembered. How strange that such habits never died... Although she had not been looking to join one of the present clans, she was nonetheless left disappointed by the fact that she would be left alone once more. "Hadn't I wanted that?" she asked herself aloud. There was a hint of an immense sadness in her soft alto voice. The vampire paused. "No, of course not..." She looked down, her slanted, Korean eyes filled with disappointment and lonliness. For a long while, she remained so, with her head bowed and her eyes searching the earth for some answer to her dilemma. It seemed that she would never move again, turning to stone to return to eternity. Such was a characteristic of being such a being. Movements could be both subtle and extreme. Suddenly, she lifted her head, squaring her shoulders, a determined expression covering her angular features. No! she told herself. Such is life... it cannot be any different because it was not meant to be. There is time, time for change, and it will come soon enough. I must be patient. She urged herself to be so, and soon her spirits were lifted and she continued with a smile. She wore a brilliant yellow dress of smooth linen. The flexible fabric made it appear as if she were floating through the terrain, a ghost wandering through the soft violet mist. A silvery wire necklace hung around her neck, adorned with sparking jewels which mimicked deep purple flowers. EunGyung seemed out of place in the wild, natural environment in which she stood. She seemed to belong more in a city, the one she looked down at from the top of the valley. She froze. There was another presence here... The vampire concentrated and opened her senses, inhaling deeply to let the scent fill her.

The male vampire was roaming through his clan's lands calmly. Not really paying attention to much. He hardly ever did anyways. The area was quiet anymore. Lack of fellow vampires. Lack of a decent leader as well. The hell with it. The clan would eventually get a leader right? He hoped so secrectly at least. He felt that the clan was weak. At least most of the others where suffering the same deal. It was times like these that made he regret his past. At least the Antares had a leader. He sighed, he'd never be welcome back there, not after what he did. Dark eyes fell to the ground thinking. Why? Because he'd wanted to be leader? No. It had just been for thrills. Gah, he'd been such a moron. His roaming came to an abrupt halt when he thought he heard someone else moving around near him. He peered through the infernal mist that always seemed to coat the lands and thought he saw the faintest glimmer of yellow and then a voice. It seemed to be an illusion that the mists could create. He shrugged inwardly. Where was the harm in at least checking it out. He was no mere human that had no defenses. When he moved forward he noted that indeed it was no illusion, but another vampire, but a female, out seeming roaming as well. He was mildly surprised, wondering if she was part of the Caelum or another clan. He never really kept up with the members, it wasn't his fault, and it wasn't his job really. He nodded calmly to her. "Hello, I'm Hikaru." He said simply. Nope, no lastname, he'd left it when he'd been turned. As he stood calmly watching the girl, well, woman, one hand ran absently through his spiked hair before dropping back to his side. He almost wondered if she was lost, but it didn't seem that way. She didn't have that look of panic, or she was hiding it abnormally well. Of course vampires didn't really have to worry all the time, especially if they where older. He didn't think she was an elder or even ancient but perhaps she was older than him. He could be wrong though, he often was in guaging others. He was a tad bit anti-social after all. So he simply settled to wait and watch her reaction before he'd start asking her questions. Like if she was really part of the caelum and such. He'd be polite about it too at least. Unless she turned hostile on him, but he honestly didn't think that she would.

The scent which touched her, filled her senses, was that of another vampire. Vampires had a scent that was remarkably differing from their past human lives; it was more… metallic, perhaps even sweet in a strange sort of way. It was their unchanging bodies, their diet. As a flamingo’s color was dictated by its diet, so were the scents of vampires. It was like a requisite for being a vampire—they had to smell of the sweet blood upon which they fed. Recognizing the scent, she straightened, the movement sudden and yet fluid all at once. The scent did not carry with it fear or malicious intent. EunGyung was sometimes able to detect such emotions; it was the hormones released into the air. As other rabbits could smell the hormonal fear released by a fellow creature that was seeking to warn it, so could she sometimes smell the fear or malignancy in a fellow vampire in addition to other creatures. Although her body and her muscles relaxed, this fact made her mind do so. She could sense that the other vampire was near, but allowed herself to wait before she turned to greet it. There was no rush after all; she could wait. She did not have to wait long. The voice reached her ears and she allowed the vibrations to mingle within her ears, processing the sound and memorizing it. The vampire turned to meet him. She studied him quickly, for the moment uninterested in the reason for why he was here. “Hail, Hikaru. I am called EunGyung.” She made the slightest bow to him, the nod of her head really the only noticeable action of her greeting. Her voice rang with the slight accent of her Asian origins. She thought about asking him if these were his lands, but she already knew the answer to that. His scent was not present at all in these lands. If there were once vampires ruling here, it was long since those times. She detected that there were other vampire scents on him, although these scents were old; perhaps he was searching for another land. “Have you come to claim these lands as well?” There was no challenge in her voice, but she wondered if he would think differently. She tried to sound unthreatening. She did not offer him a smile, although she was not frowning. Her pale face merely remained as it was: still and unemotional. The vampire did not blink, for she did not feel the need to. Such a thing was a habit best left for humans, or those trying to blend in with them. She did not try, could not try, for she would never pass for a human again. She tried to shed herself of mortal habits which were unnecessary and merely required her to think about such unnecessary actions. Her head tilted ever so slightly as she awaited his reply. What would she do if he were here to claim the lands? She was quite sure herself. Perhaps it would not hurt for her to join with him if he were. She was looking for some company after all.

He noted a couple things after she had finished speaking. First, that is was her that he that was an illusion of the forest. One couldn't blame him though. He wasn't really at his best either. What with him starting to regret that he left the Antares clan. He sighed slightly before his gaze sharpened slightly. Claim these lands as well? Did that mean she thought that she wanted to become the clan leader? Hmmmm. She was either older than he thought or perhaps stranger that he had wrought. "No EunGyung. These are the Caelum lands and I am merely part of the clan. I don't wish to have the responisiblities of being the leader either. I am too, rash, to be an effective leader." He said calmly, not really ashamed to admit his own short-comings. "Plus, most of the clan wouldn't accept me as a leader since I was born into a different one." He said calmly, watching her. She probably wouldn't care though. It was his past and really he was the only who should care, he was just mentioning a little part that proved he would not be good for this clan. He was still attached to the Antares so if they attacked, which was unlikely, he wouldn't be able to defend the clan as well as he should. He was thinking both of the clan and of himself at least. So he may have been slightly selfish but it was really for the good of the clan in the end, that had to make him a good guy right? Probably not in the eyes of others around.

“Ah. I see.” It was difficult to tell what sort of emotions colored her voice. She seemed neither disappointed nor pleased, though. It was as if she were considered a fact, looking at it from every angle possible. She knew that she had wanted to settle down. She hadn’t known that she was going to have a family so soon… if this boy were staying, that is. She had thought she was going to have the time to settle down and establish herself first before engaging in any crowded activity. The presence of Hikaru did not displease her, though, and it did not crush her plans. It merely added another variable, that was all. She considered him silently, unmoving like a stone sculpture as he spoke. So he was from the Antares clan. She had heard of that. She wondered if that would have any effect on the terms between this clan of hers and theirs. Perhaps, perhaps not. Only time would tell. And it did not really matter to the female vampire either way. The silver moonlight contrasted with the golden shimmer of her eyes. “Perhaps it would not interfere if I were to claim the leadership position here, then.” She seemed to sigh as she paused. “I am weary of solitude. I came here to find others like me, who wanted to keep peace among all, and to establish a family of sorts.” That was what she had decided to call what would soon be a growing clan, she hoped: a family. That was how she wanted them to be, after all. Close and united, like a family. She turned her face slowly toward the buildings in the valley below. It seemed quiet and pleasant there. “It seems that there wasn’t been many vampires here for quite some time?” The wording of the inquiry seemed to bring out her slight accent and accentuate her foreign appearance. She shifted in her long yellow dress, gesticulating toward the valley with a snap of her head. Her long black hair moved gracefully in contrast to her quick movements. “Tell me what you know of these lands; perhaps you know more than I.” Although it had come out as a command, she had not meant it so. She merely wanted to become more acquainted with the area and its inhabitants before she really decided on doing anything with the leadership position. It was better to know, she had learned over the years. And seeing that she had just arrived, she did not know, and that was the most unsettling thing of all, at least to her. She crossed her arms loosely in front of her, as if to get comfortable for a long story.

His gaze had fallen to the ground as he toed with some of the leaves with his massive boots. The way he was dressed it was best to classify him as a goth, or at least that's what the young humans did. He didn't care, he just liked how the clothes fitted and looked on him. Guess it was just left over habits from the Antares clan. Old habit die hard it seemed. When she first spoke to him again he figured it was mostly rhetorical and stayed silent as the result. When she asked about the members he sighed gently. "We are few and far between but no clan really has truly superior numbers that I know of." He said calmly. Well, that was the truth as he knew it so he wasn't lying. "Well, I haven't been here for long, but I can tell you that what remains of the clan is rather diverse since not all where born or turned into the Caelum. The mist like to play tricks as well if one doesn't pay attention and the area is rather self-sufficient." He said calmly. It wasn't much, but it was something at least. He closed his eyes slightly, trying to remember if there was anything else that might be of interest to her since it seemed that she wanted the clan leadership. "Ah, yes, most other clans don't like the Caelum since some of the Canopus and Cygni join us." He said after a couple moments pause. Yes, that was rather important. At least let her be aware of that fact and see if she still wanted the leadership spot. Diplomacy was horrid anymore it seemed, but then again he tried to avoid it.

EunGyung listened quietly, her golden orbs staring, unmoving, at Hikaru within the narrow confines of her oriental eyes. The night was beginning to wear away; there was still some time though. She had arrived here later than she had anticipated, and now she would have limited time to converse with this male. But she was patient, and there was still two hours left before she would want to go and seek shelter for the day and to sleep. She remained as still as stone, listening, until he was finished. It seemed that there was not much to say for this place, as there was not much here. That wasn’t much of a problem. She would rather that if she did take the leadership, the area be fairly new and unused to some other rule. She found the news that the other clans did not support the Caelum undaunting. However, it was still nonetheless a bit disturbing, for she had hoped that she would be able to count on the others should the need arrive. That was not to say that they wouldn’t, merely that it would take some work. She did not mind the work; it would keep her busy perhaps, and that was preferable to the lonely solitude from which she had recently departed. “I think that I will like it here,” she said slowly and thoughtfully, as if to herself. “What do you think? I’ll have my work cut out for myself, here, but I have a feeling that my presence would be needed here. And seeing that at the moment, it is all open, I think that I will reestablish the Caelum under me.” She paused, turning her gaze towards the valley, her eyes scanning the buildings and stopping on the mansion. She did not turn her gaze back to Hikaru, but her eyes did move to the corners so that she could see him out of her peripheral. “Care to join me, Hikaru? I think I shall have a look around at all this before the night is over.”She looked to the sky for a moment. Yes, there was still time. Suddenly, moving with a speed greater than any mortal, she glided down through the valley, getting herself quickly acquainted with it all before moving toward the mansion. [this has ended, but I will begin another continuation in the Mansion section after I have returned from my trip ^^]
